Cakes of 2017
Happy New Year everybody!
We are only a few days into the new year, but before I turn my oven on for the first cake of 2018 I thought I'd do a quick round-up of some of last years favourites.
I made close to 100 cakes, so I can't share them all, but here are just a few that stood out for me for various reasons.
January
I love that instead of the 'usual' Harry Potter requests I got to play with the Tale of Three Brothers.
February
The Christmasaurus! As popular as Peppa Pig is, and Mario and Frozen, it was nice to see a books character taking centre stage.
March
Harry Plopper. This was my son's last cake he took to share with his friends in primary school before moving on to high school.
May
I was trusted to make an old school friends wedding cake from primary school, I loved the old school theme!
June
Wall-E. Time consuming, quite scary structure, but rewarding after dusting him with 'rust' and stepping back.
July
Art Deco Batman. Being thrown these two themes, and them trusting me when I said 'how about a black wedding cake?'
August
Being allowed to just run away with this entire design and adding a mini ice cream stand!
September
Being trusted enough to make something side by side instead of tiered when they can't quite picture it until it's finished.
October
The most ambitious cake I've ever made. And delivered in one piece too...
November
One of the coolest couples in cake form
December
When the couple you're creating for are just a pleasure to deal with, and it doesn't hurt when they adore the first design you send through either! Thanks guys x Thanks to all my customers, followers and commenters for just being you, and I hope to see more of you this year :D Make 2018 a good one.
